“Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!”
~ Revelations 19:7a
Being on the cheer squad at Life Way is about so much more than cheerleading. We see our squad as a place to serve, a place to be a part of a great group of friends and a place to grow in our walks with the Lord. It is also a ton of fun!!!
We have cheer try-outs in the spring for all students that will be going into 7th-12th grades the following year. Our 2017-18 varsity squad will be co-ed. This will be our second year with both guys and girls on our squad and we couldn’t be more excited about it!
In the summer we attend CCA (Christian Cheerleaders of America) camp in Waxahatchie, TX. We have been awarded the “Mega-Spout” spirit award at camp the last 3 out of 4 years which is our favorite award to get all year.
During the school months, our cheer squad is very active in supporting our Warrior teams by cheering for all home varsity basketball teams, working with the student council and student section (the “Battlefield”) for games and pep rallies and making hallway and locker signs for our sports teams. We also spend our time working on our conference competition routine, our homecoming routine, our cheer camp for elementary students and our cheer chapel where we lead worship for all 7th-12th graders.
